Sarah Karlinsky is an expert in housing and land use policy. She has led the publication of numerous SPUR policy reports, including What Will it Really Take to Create an Affordable Bay Area, Room for More, Affordable By Design, Safe Enough to Stay, On Solid Ground, Taking Down a Freeway to Reconnect a Neighborhood and Historic Preservation in San Francisco: Making the Preservation Process Work for Everyone. She has held many leadership roles at SPUR, including serving as the organization's Deputy Director from 2008-2014.
Prior to joining SPUR, Sarah developed affordable housing throughout the Bay Area with MidPen Housing, one of the largest nonprofit developers of affordable housing in the Bay Area. She began her career teaching urban planning to middle school students as a Teach for America corps member in Baltimore, Maryland. Sarah received her Master’s degree in public policy and urban planning from Harvard Kennedy School and a BA in history from Columbia University.
Evelyn Lee, FAIA, NOMA, is the first ever Senior Experience Designer at Slack Technologies, Founder of the Practice of Architecture, and Co-Host on the Podcast, Practice Disrupted. Lee seamlessly integrates her business and architecture background with a qualitative and quantitative focus to build better experiences for organization's employees, clients, and guests.
She is widely published, wrote a monthly column for Contract magazine for over 3 years, and now is a frequent contributor to Architect Magazine. Evelyn has received numerous industry awards including the 2016 40 Under 40 award for Building Design + Construction and the 2014 AIA National Young Architects Award. She currently serves as the first ever female Treasurer to the AIA National Board in 2020-2021.
Nathan Ogle is the founder of 12CHC|Design Management, an Architectural, Real Estate, Contracts, Entitlements, and Design Consulting business geographically centered in the San Francisco Bay Area with award-winning design projects locally and beyond. His career spans practice, academia, business, construction and he writes extensively on sustainability, culture, thought and design trends. He currently serves on the AIA California Board of Directors, AIACA Urban Design Committee and Board of Governors for a San Francisco Non-Profit Agency, while educating students around the world as an online foundation instructor in Architecture at the Academy of Art University. His passions are family, small stream fishing, tennis, high adventure camping, league basketball, mountain biking, kayaking and collecting mid-century modern furniture. He received his Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in the City of New York and a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, College of Architecture and Urban Studies in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Ileana Serrano serves as a Data Dissemination Specialist for the U.S. Census Bureau. She is a veteran of three Decennial Censuses with 30 years of experience earning her the Census Excellence Award in 2005. She is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in Illinois and Indiana through the dissemination of Census data and information. Ms. Serrano's primary responsibilities are to plan, coordinate, and implement data dissemination, outreach, engagement, and training. Ileana conducts data access workshops, webinars, and presentations to a variety of organizations, local governments, business, media, universities, etc., and is available to assist in your Census data experience.
Douglas’s mission is to mentor young firms in order to accelerate their growth. Using his expertise, he acts as a sounding board for young principals as well as a guide through all aspects of a practice including Strategic Planning, Operations, Human Resources, Marketing and Business Development. His life coaching skills facilitate a work/life balance as an important part of a successful practice.
