  • Explore the redesign of a landmark 1963 Edward Durrell Stone building on the University of Chicago's South Side campus.
  • Understand how the commission afforded the architects an opportunity to collaborate with the university client's office of civic engagement.
  • Learn how an enlightened client can have a positive impact on the local community through collaborative development processes.
  • Review strategies for improving physical and visual access to the facility, promoting local businesses and transportation, creating jobs and job-training opportunities for neighborhood residents, and partnering with local artists.
