Energy Modeling for All: 2030 Commitment for Small Firms

Examine the 2030 commitment from a small firm's point of view. Check out a live demonstration of free, easy to use residential energy modeling software that quickly calculates EUI.

Meeting the 2030 Commitment is not just for large firms! This course provides a concise, easy-to-follow outline of this commitment from a small firm's point of view.

The 2030 Commmitment is a clear moral imperative, and there's a strong business case for smaller firms to take it on as a means for marketing to prospects. You’ll observe a demonstration of rapid design feedback, informing which designs positively impact a project's pEUI number.

The highlight is a live demonstration of easy-to-use residential energy modeling software. Quickly calculate a design's EUI and generate critical feedback during the design phase, minimizing a building's energy use and greenhouse gas creation.

Find out how your small firm can meet the 2030 Commitment in this interactive, valuable course.

Learning objectives

•    Small firm participants will have the knowledge to implement the steps involved with signing on to the 2030 Commitment including: actually signing onto the Commitment, producing an operational action plan, developing a sustainability action plan and reporting the firm’s 2030 progress annually.

•    Gain a solid understanding of the output metrics involved with an energy analysis for various building types used to obtain project level Predicted Energy Use Intensity (pEUI), which is required for the firm’s annual 2030 Commitment submittal to the AIA.

•    Discover how to use simple and cost effective energy analysis software to help make critical, iterative design decisions early and often in the design process to reduce a buildings predicted energy use and carbon emissions.

•    Participants will be given an overview of the business case for small firms and how the various aspects of the 2030 Commitment can be used in the promotion and marketing of their firm.
