Project Delivery Symposium 2021: Delivering the Future | Session 1 | 1 LU
Monday, March 8, 1:00pm ET
COVID has dramatically accelerated the switch to digital tools and processes, especially in project delivery. Numerous technologies exist at each stage in the design and construction process. To understand which one works the best for your firm it is important to have a good decision-making framework through the use of practice-driven research. Issues of training costs, data ownership, and geometry translation loom large. Successful navigation of technology adoption increases profits while simultaneously increasing staff time available. Together, we will create a template technology adoption process for small, medium, and large firms.
- Understand a survey of technology opportunities at each stage in the design process.
- Develop appropriate checklists and decision making workflows for evaluating technology.
- Understand how proper evaluation can increase firm profits and increase successful project delivery.
- Discuss how technology implementation changes based on the size of the firm and the in-house expertise.
