Thomas C. Brutting

Mr. Brutting has been a Principal at HKIT Architects for 15 years. He specializes in multifamily and senior housing, having designed over 30 residential communities, comprising more than 2,000 units. Tom is a senior housing advocate serving as founder and Chair of the Northern California AIA Design for Aging Committee. He also serves on the AIA SF Housing Committee and is past Chair of the St. Anthony Foundation Board of Directors. Tom earned a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University and currently is on the Board of Advisors for the School of Architecture. In addition to serving on state committees regarding senior design, Tom has been a regular speaker at LeadingAge, California Assisted Living Association, California Association of Health Facilities, and the California Dept. of Housing and Community Development on topics related to the planning and design of senior housing.
