Nicholas Docous

AIA, LEED AP, NCARB

Nicholas Docous, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has more than 32 years of experience in the design and construction industry, including more than 25 years as a Principal at Lionakis, a Sacramento-based architecture and engineering firm, where he manages the firm’s Civic/Commercial market.

Nicholas’ experience includes projects for a wide spectrum of clients, including the State of California, AT&T, numerous California cities and counties, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, and the Administrative Office of the Courts. He served as the Principal-in-Charge for the California Department of Motor Vehicles Headquarters Renovation and New Exterior Skin, a half-million square foot, multi-phased seismic retrofit, interior renovation, and new exterior skin project that spanned 15 years.

Nicholas is actively involved in the AIA Central Valley Chapter, where he previously served as Director, Treasurer, Vice President, and President. He was the 2010 AIA California Council (AIACC) President and currently serves on the AIA National Board of Directors as a Regional Director. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s degree in Architecture and Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
