Project Manager, AARP
Aldea Douglas currently serves as a Project Manager at AARP with their Livable Communities Team. Her work includes ensuring that community leaders and members have tools and resources to remain independent, productive and purposeful through education on various initiatives including Active Living and Home Fit workshops, AARP’s Age Friendly Network and AARP’s Livable Communities Digital Tool. Her previous experience includes over 10 years of municipal planning including experience in multicultural communities, TOD planning and community outreach.
Her education includes a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science at North Carolina A&T State University and a M.A. in Geography at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her publications include the Takoma/Langley Crossroads Approved Sector Plan, November 2009 for the The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.
