Kenneth J. Filarski FAIA, LEED FELLOW, LEED AP BD+C, SITES AP, AICP, CFM, SAP+AEER, NCARB is Principal of FILARSKI/ARCHITECTURE+PLANNING+RESEARCH an integrated architecture and planning, ecology design studio and research workshop, recognized with national, regional, and state awards in multiple disciplines. Ken is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a LEED Fellow of the U.S. Green Building Council. He is an AICP Certified Planner, a LEED Accredited Professional with specialty in Building Design and Construction, one of the ﬁrst SITES Accredited Professionals in the world, a Certified Flood Plain Manager. Nationally Certified as a Disaster Assistance Trainer and Disaster Responder, he was deployed in Superstorm Sandy. Founder and Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council RI he authored the historic Rhode Island Green Buildings Act, being the ﬁrst state incorporating LEED, LEED for Neighborhood Development, and SITES into public law. A former member of the AIA Board of Directors, Ken is a member of American Institute of Architects Disaster Assistance Committee developing local and national AIA response to disaster events and the COVID-19 pandemic.
