Cynthia Fishman

Cynthia Fishman is the founder and Director of the Biomimicry Design Alliance, a research and architecture consulting group consisting of designers and scientists from the Denver area. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University in Houston, TX and earned her Master of Science in Biomimicry from ASU, the only accredited Masters program in the world. Ms. Fishman is an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Denver's College of Architecture and Planning and at the Ecosa Institute, lecturing about biomimicy. She is also the president and co-founder of the non-profit Denver Does Design, which is an interdisciplinary volunteer group that helps promote and connect professional organizations within the Denver design community. Ms. Fishman has been a speaker about biomimicry at numerous conferences including the 2017 USGBC Arizona State Conference (keynote), the 2018 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Trend + Design Center, Convergence 2018 which took place at Arcosanti, and at the 2019 Construction Specification Insititute's Build Denver event (keynote) as well as also having been interviewed for the Art of Construction podcast. In 2015 she was awarded the AIA Colorado Leadership Award for her outstanding contributions to the architectural profession and in 2018 was named one of Engineering News Record (ENR) Mountain States Top Young Professionals.
