Matthew Herman leads Buro Happold’s Chicago office and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MEP and Environmental design teams. He has worked on a variety of projects providing project management and coordination for MEP strategies and environmental design. Matthew’s speciality is low energy design and energy analysis including energy modeling, post occupancy monitoring, and life cycle assessment for existing buildings and new construction.
Mr. Herman has experience working with clients and design teams during all phases of development, construction, and operations. He has led projects ranging in scale from system component design to masterplanning and has worked on projects such as the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, PNC Bank Headquarters in Pittsburgh, United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC, and the Hawaii Preparatory Academy, which is certified under the Living Building Challenge program.
