Andy has worked in community development and construction regulatory agencies for nearly 25 years. Andy began his career in 1997 as a Building Plan Review Intern with the City of Seattle in the Dept. of Construction & Land Use (DCLU). Since that time he has also worked in the city of Kirkland and as the Building Official for the city of Sammamish prior to returning to Seattle in 2008. Andy has an undergraduate degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Minnesota. Andy holds nearly 30 professional certifications, including Six Sigma Greenbelt from the Joseph M. Juran Center for Research in Supply Chain, Operations and Quality, the USGBC LEED Accredited Professional, Washington Association of Building Officials Accredited Code Official (WABO-ACO), and the International Code Council (ICC) Certified Building Official (CBO) and Master Code Professional (MCP). Andy has served on the Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) Executive Board for the last 10 years and is currently one of the Officers serving as the WABO 2nd Vice President.
