Thomas Jacobs
AIA, LEED AP
Tom Jacobs is a 2012 National AIA Young Architect award winner, a respected professional and community leader, and an inspirational teacher and speaker. Continually searching for insights and understanding in a rapidly evolving world, Tom draws from his experiences as principal at Krueck + Sexton Architects in Chicago and as Studio Associate Professor at the College of Architecture at IIT.
After graduating with a Master of Science ETH from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Tom worked for the Swiss firm of Herzog and deMeuron in Basel and the US on the New de Young Museum in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
At Krueck + Sexton Architects, Tom is the Project Architect for the New South Florida Federal Office Building under the GSA Design Excellence Program, which follows a Zero Environmental Footprint target by 2030. He also leads the firm's strategic planning and management implementation initiatives. In his home town, Tom is the founder and leader of the Riverside Sustainability Council, a grass-roots organization dedicated to intelligent stewardship of a National Historic Landmark community.
