LEED AP BD+C, O+M, CPHC
Heather Jauregui, LEED AP BD+C, O+M, CPHC, works for Perkins Eastman as a Sustainability Specialist on its Firmwide Sustainability Team. With a bachelor's degree in Architecture from Clemson University and a master's degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon with a focus on sustainable technology, Heather has combined her passion for research and architecture in both her education and her career. She currently works to propel the industry toward a more sustainable future in two main facets at Perkins Eastman. First, as a firmwide resource, she works internally to educate architects about sustainability, and to provide them with easy access to key research and tools they need to integrate sustainability into the design process. Second, she works as an internal consultant on key projects to help guide the design process from goal setting to strategy identification to measuring results.
Heather is passionate about passive design, building science, indoor environmental quality, and pre/post-occupancy evaluations. She is a LEED Accredited Professional for Building Design and Construction (BD+C) as well as Operations and Maintenance (O+M), and she is a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC). Heather is a member of the Society of Building Science Educators (SBSE), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Heather also volunteers through the AIA DC chapter with its Architecture in the Schools (AIS) program where she helps teach children about architecture and shares her passion for sustainability.
