Kenney Payne

Kenney has over 31 years of experience in the architectural profession. After spending the first 20 years as a Project Manager (mostly serving public sector clients), he served as Operations Manager of Moseley's Virginia Beach office (whose focus was on higher education projects) for the next five years. Vice President of Quality Control, Kenney is responsible for developing content for and maintaining Moseley's Operations and Procedures Manual, developing the Construction Drawings Reference (CDR) procedures covering how to prepare Construction Drawings, and developing content for and maintaining Moseley's Reference Library, which is a collection of numerous resources to assist in Moseley's efforts to achieve quality while managing risk. As Vice President of Risk Management, Kenney is responsible for reviewing contract terms and conditions for RFPs, owner / consultant / contractor agreements, construction-related claims, and also deals directly with Moseley’s professional liability and general insurance carriers.
He is also a member of DPRCG's Practice Management and Education Committee. Kenney has also represented the Virginia Society - AIA since 2000 on Virginia's workgroups in promulgating the state's building code. He has been successful in getting over 50 code changes approved at the state level, many of which ultimately end up in the national ICC model codes. He also participates on the VSAIA Government and Industry Affairs Committee, and serves on the VSAIA Joint Legislative Committee. In 2004, the VSAIA honored Kenney with the "Award for Distinguished Achievement." He has presented at numerous national, regional, state, and local conferences and conventions, including ArchEx for the past five consecutive years.
