Nick Serfass, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, PMP, is the Assistant Director, Internship + Education at NCARB. In this position he helps support and guide the education and internship continuum as it evolves with the architecture profession. In pursuit of this effort, he has delivered over 200 presentations on licensure to colleges and universities of architecture, professional conferences, and architecture firms. His work also focuses on staffing committees related to licensure and internship, as well as program development for several Council-wide initiatives.
Previously, Nick was a project architect for a large firm in Richmond, Virginia. During his time with the firm, Serfass helped lead an in-house IDP group, which was awarded the AIA/NCARB IDP Outstanding Firm of the Year distinction in 2007. His efforts focused on demystifying the IDP process and preparing new candidates for the ARE.
Nick holds a B. A. from the University of Virginia, an M.Arch. from the University of Miami, and an MBA from Auburn University. He also has served as a member of the Program Advisory Group for the 2008 and 2009 Architecture Exchange East conferences and, most recently, was appointed to the AIA Richmond Board of Directors in January, 2014.
