Walt is the CEO of Mazzetti, leading global provider of MEP engineering design and technology consulting, primarily focused in Healthcare. Mazzetti creates future-focused, technologically advanced buildings, rooted in local culture, climate, and economy. Walt has been partnering, consulting, and advising Healthcare clients for more than 30 years, with a keen focus on future-planning. Walt serves and leads various U.S. and international code committees, including NFPA99 Electrical Systems Technical Committee, ASHRAE 189.3 Committee, Facilities Guideline Institute (FGI), and the International Federation of Healthcare Engineering (representing the U.S.). Walt regularly presents and publishes on various topics addressing Healthcare greatest challenges in the built environment. Walt, though self-proclaimed introvert, is an experienced orator and storyteller, sharing his thought leadership on various stages both domestically and abroad. Some of the events on his annual circuit include: ASHE PDC, ASHE Annual, Healthcare Design (HCD), Health Facilities Symposium, ASHRAE, American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Patient Center Design Summit, Building Design+Construction, AIA, World Congress Design & Health World Congress, AHA Leadership Summit, and more. Today, he is a committee member of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Action Collaborative to Decarbonize the U.S. Healthcare Sector in addition to leading ASHRAE’s Decarbonization Task Force to create a national guide for Healthcare.
