Adam Whelchel
PhD, PWS
Dr. Adam Whelchel’s twenty-three year career in leadership positions has focused on ecological restoration and climate preparedness while with federal agencies, consulting firms, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations in the United States, Southeast Asia, Caribbean and Africa. As the Director of Science for The Nature Conservancy in Connecticut, Dr. Whelchel is currently responsible for overseeing principal aspects of coastal and riverine climate assessment and adaptation with municipalities and states via the Conservancy’s Coastal Resilience Network (www.coastalresilience.org). Adam also served as a key advisor for the Puerto Rico Climate Adaptation Project and a Lead Author on the Northeast section of the U.S. National Climate Assessment.
