Michael David White is an architectural lighting designer with extensive experience on a wide variety of projects including science centers, casinos, high-end office buildings, hospitality prototypes, museums, churches, restaurants, convention facilities and residences. Currently he is a Senior Lighting Designer at Schuler Shook. He has a diverse background that includes business development for deregulated electric utilities, marketing for a major building controls manufacturer, and performance lighting for theater, dance and opera.
His current focus is the application of evidence-based design to architectural lighting solutions. Michael has been granted certification in evidence-based design from the Center for Health Design; and is Lighting Certified by the NCQLP; and is a LEED® Accredited Professional. During the past two years Michael has collaborated with world class medical researchers developing translational research to apply evidence from Sleep Medicine, Chronobiology and Neuroscience to the design of architectural lighting.
