Gemma Devesa Gasco is an international architect with over 20 years of experience leading complex projects across Europe and the United States. As Principal of GDG Architecture, a firm based in New York, she brings a global perspective to architecture, with a focus on cross-cultural collaboration, design integrity, and international project delivery.
Having lived and worked in five countries — Spain, Sweden, Germany, the UK, and the U.S. — Gemma has developed deep expertise in navigating diverse regulatory frameworks, client expectations, and interdisciplinary teams. Her portfolio spans transportation hubs, cultural institutions, and hospitality developments, including work on the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in New York with Santiago Calatrava, as well as projects across Europe and Asia.
As a third-generation hotelier, she brings a unique dual perspective to hospitality design, bridging architectural vision with operational and guest experience insights. She currently serves as a Director of AIA Brooklyn and Co-Chair of the Women in Architecture Committee and is an active member of the AIA Global Practice Committee, supporting architects navigating the complexities of global practice.
