Jeanne Gang, FAIA, is the founding principal and partner of Studio Gang, an international architecture and urban design practice headquartered in Chicago. Known for an inquisitive, forward-looking approach to design that unfolds new technical and material possibilities and expands the active role of designers in society, she creates striking places that connect people with each other, their communities, and the environment. 

Jeanne’s approach has produced award-winning projects across scales and typologies, from cultural and community buildings such as the Chicago River Boathouses, Writers Theatre, and Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership, to structurally dynamic towers like Aqua Tower, Solar Carve, and MIRA. Ongoing work includes major cultural and civic projects throughout the Americas and Europe, such as the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation at the American Museum of Natural History in New York; a new United States Embassy in Brasília; the University of Chicago’s European hub for study and research in Paris; and a new Global Terminal for O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. 

A MacArthur Fellow and a Professor in Practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Jeanne has been named one of TIME Magazine’s most influential people in the world..

Towards a More Sustainable and Equitable Future of Architecture

Join us for a rich presentation by Studio Gang’s Founding Partner Jeanne Gang, FAIA, on how her practice is leading the way for architects across the globe towards a more sustainable and equitable future. In her keynote lecture at the 2022 AIA Women’s Leadership Summit, Gang shares several projects, ranging in scale and typology, that demonstrate how her firm is pushing design’s ability to generate meaningful change and offer practical solutions to larger issues like climate change. She also discusses her firm’s major step towards pay equity after closing the gender wage gap for all Studio Gang employees in 2018.
