Description
Mentorship in Action is the second course in the Inclusive Mentorship Series. This course is designed for mentors and mentees who have completed either Becoming an Empowered Mentee in Architecture or Becoming an Inclusive Mentor in Architecture and are actively engaged in a mentoring relationship.
Shifting from preparation to practice, you’ll establish a structured mentoring relationship, engage in purposeful conversations, navigate real challenges, take action to support growth and development, and reflect on the effectiveness of your relationship over time.
The course is structured around real mentoring interactions rather than content delivery. Learning is demonstrated through assignment-based reflection and application tied directly to your mentoring experience.
Learning Objectives
Establish a structured mentoring relationship with clear goals, expectations, and communication practices.
Apply inclusive communication and feedback strategies in real mentoring interactions.
Engage in mentoring conversations that are purposeful, responsive, and development-focused.
Identify and respond to challenges, uncertainty, or decision points within a mentoring relationship.
Take concrete action that supports growth, development, access, or opportunity.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the mentoring relationship and identify adjustments for future practice.
