Simon Hoffiz is a Senior Designer at Nelson Worldwide with 10 years of experience in the industry having worked on eSports, hospitality, mixed-use and multi-family projects across his career. Simon is also an Architecture and Game Design professor and uses the classroom to merge his professional and academic interests that have resulted in courses that explore 1) the intersection of augmented reality and architecture, and 2) the Esports arena typology. Simon’s passion for “everything” design is also displayed across his extracurricular endeavors, which include his YouTube channel, design theories, game design, and music compositions.

Esports, or electronic sports, is a rapidly growing form of sports competition using video games. This emerging sports gaming market needs venues to have unique spatial requirements to serve the needs of the players and spectators.
